I know that I have totally discussed this subject before, but you get it again because I am frustrated at myself and it's my blog, so there (Imagine me sticking my tongue out and stomping my foot). Okay, now that I am over the 2 year old tantrum (I am surrounded by them daily!), I will explain. I know that society expects women to be a certain size, look, etc. I know this and although I am constantly comparing myself, I REALLY try not to. I really do. But it is difficult. But, I am a mommy. I have born and nursed 3 children and my hips and boobs are the evidence of that (never mind the loud little kids running around the house!). In my mind I know this, but when I look in the mirror, it is VERY difficult to remember. I don't have a personal trainer. I don't have a private chef making me perfectly nutritious meals. I don't have a nanny that can take care of the kids so that I can DO those prior things. I am just a regular mommy. Again, I KNOW this. Why can't my brain accept it? I know I have mentioned it, but I have gained some of the weight that I lost last year back. It is really difficult for me. I am doing the Biggest Loser Contest and when I stepped on that scale on Tuesday morning, I PROMISED myself that I would NOT berate myself, no matter WHAT it said. Well, I kept that promise, but I seriously about fell off the scale. I just can't believe that it went that far. I made myself make a promise to myself that I will NEVER ever weigh that again and that I WILL be happy with what I see in the mirror. When I see my hips, I will look at my beautiful children and smile. When I see that my boobs aren't exactly up as high as they used to be, I will remember those little faces buried into my chest. I have to learn to be confident. I HAVE TO!! What kind of example am I setting for my daughters when I feel badly about myself? I want L and J to be confident about themselves. I WANT that for them. So, I will learn to be confident in my appearance. I WILL. I want that for my children, for my husband, and for myself; especially for myself.
So, in that mind, this morning when I was working out, I was listening to my Blackberry and the song "One Hot Mama" by Trace Adkins came on. I've heard this song I don't know how many times. But for some reason, this morning, the lyrics REALLY actually made sense to me. I have decided that this song is going to become my mantra. I have to learn to believe this. The link to the video is here. And the link to the lyrics is here. I think that any mommy reading this should really check it out and start to live by it. Remember, we are ALL "One Hot Mama"s!!!
Sorry for the rambling that totally went on here. I just had a lot of rambling in my brain!

The Video Says It All!
After my post on Tuesday, I have been trying to not play the comparison game, but unfortunately not with much success. I just can't help it. I've always thought I have a lot of self-confidence, but now I am not so sure. Not if I can't even make it through a 60 minute Body Pump class without comparing myself to all the women in the room, including the 15 year old in just the sports bra! Isn't there something wrong with that? It has been 15 years since I WAS 15, besides, I'm pretty sure I could NEVER pull off the lone sports bra look (and see, there I go again!). But this afternoon while searching around on different blogs while the kiddos were asleep, I came across the blog Formerly Hot. I figured out, that is how I feel, I feel formerly hot! To be honest, I'm not sure I was ever hot, but now I sure do formerly that way! Well, this wonderful blogger had a video on her blog. After watching it several times and laughing so hard (I was glad I was not drinking anything as I probably would have drenched and fried my already struggling computer!) I knew I HAD to repost it. I don't even know how to describe it! It was perfect. I'm not really a Lady Gaga fan (a post for another day), but am SO loving this parody! Check it out and then head over to Formerly Hot and see her too!
I have decided that I am Formerly Hot and working on becoming a MILF! Does that work?
Have a great day and a good laugh!
With Love,
Theresa

Another One Bites The Dust!
Another pound that is! I weighed in this morning and now my total is 43.6 pounds!! YAY!! It was a little weird to see only a loss of 1 pound after all the big numbers I have been dropping, but I know that the weight loss needs to slow down if I want to keep it off. I also have been lifting so much more and muscle weighs more than fat. I MUST remember that! I went to Body Pump this morning and we did a new track (#71 if you are familiar). WHOOO! Killer! I upped my weight a little in the upper body too so that even made it more killer. But, man do I feel good about it. It is that good kinda sore, where you know the benefits will SO be worth it! I have my friend Casey going with me. It is a blast! LOVE IT!!
OK, so my complaint for the day...This old woman in Hobby Lobby! Now, let me preface this by saying that I truly respect my elders. I think older people have a lot to teach us and I have so much respect for the lives that they have lived and the knowledge and experience they have gathered in that life. That said, this woman, seriously! Here's what happened. I took the 3 kids to Hobby Lobby. Sometimes they can be good, but today was NOT one of those times. By the time we got to the check-out, I had had about all I could take. There was only one lane open and the line was long. There was another family in front of me (a woman, her hubby, and their 2 kids). This elderly lady got in line behind me with what I am going to assume was her middle age daughter. It had to be very obvious that I was barely hanging in. L kept touching everything even after repeatedly told not too, J kept TRYING to touch everything, and M was crying. I was trying to handle it, but it was quite clearly NOT going well. Another cashier FINALLY came up and opened another lane. She said quite clearly, "The next person in line please step over here." Well, the next person in line was the family in frontof me. The mother though took one look at me, and said, "You go ahead hon." I smiled and told her thank you. I started to head over to the other lane when the old lady behind me seriously cut me off and went instead. I was FLABBERGASTED!! What made her think it was her turn? I mean, had she been by herself and was having a hard time, I probably wouldn't have thought anything of it, but she wasn't. She had help. I did not. I ALWAYS try to let older people go ahead of me if I can, always. Would it have been too much to ask for her to let 3 kids and a very flustered mommy go so we could just get out of the store making EVERYONE's shopping experience better? Seriously? No? Well, I guess not! Ok, done complaining!
I voted today. I didn't really feel like I was prepared to go vote. Is it better to vote somewhat uninformed or to just not vote? Well, I firmly feel like if you don't vote, you shouldn't bitch about the government. I want my right to bitch so I went and voted. Luckily for all but like 4 positions, there was only one person running, so that made it all easier. And the 4 positions with more than one person...well, I think I voted OK. If you haven't voted yet, get out there, you still have about an hour!!
Don't forget to go vote for my friend Natalie at Mommy On Fire. Click here for the details!
Did you know that today is Star Wars Day? MAY the FOURTH be with you! :)

The Never-Ending To Do List!
Do this, do that, do this, do that...Does it ever feel like that list ever ends? Mine doesn't. It seems like every day, that list just gets longer and longer! Laundry, dishes, laundry (5 people, lots of laundry!), pick up toys, clean out closets, make dinner, vacuum floors, wash floors, make sure kids aren't killing each other, and that is just normal mommy stuff! I also need to hem the sleeves on 4 shirts for my dad, finish my commissioned knitting, and find time to make it to the gym almost every day! I know all moms go through this, just sometimes it feels like so much. And there are plenty of days when all I would really like to do is sit down and play a game with my beautiful daughters! I have a hard time remembering that the chores will always be there and the kids will only be this little for this long. I MUST do better to remember that!!
So, what IS for dinner tonight? Well, dinner is being made courtesy of my good friend Natalie over at Mommy On Fire. After M was born, she brought us this AMAZING buffalo chicken. I LOVED it so much and have been craving it. Well, found out that she has the recipe posted on her blog. So, Check out her recipe for Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches!!
To thank Natalie for supplying this recipe (although she doesn't actually know that I linked to it...oops!), I want to encourage everyone to do something for me. She is up for a BLOG award at I AM MOMMY. So, please, please please go check her out. Scroll down to "Most Inspirational" Blogs and click on "Mommy On Fire". You don't have to join anything to vote, just go check her out and PLEASE vote for her. I would love for her to win this. Natalie is an UNBELIEVABLY strong woman who inspires me greatly. She is a wonderful writer, and even better friend, and a beautiful beautiful child of God!
Well, gotta get to that To Do List while kids are napping! Have a great day everyone! See you for weigh-in tomorrow!

Thursdays are Rough (but a little Fiber Therapy Helps!)
Sigh...Thursdays always seem to be rough days. I'm not really sure why. They are just extra long and tiresome. I think part of it is that my IL's, the wonderfully amazing people they are, come on Wednesdays and spoil the kids (which is what grandparents are SUPPOSED to do!). The only problem with that, is that it makes Thursdays just a little bit of a challenge. But, it is one I will put up with as I enjoy the Wednesday freedom too much!!
I apologize for being MIA the past 2 days...I have had very little time to myself. Let's catch up..shall we?
I weighed in myself on Tuesday and I had lost another 3.4 pounds! That makes the total weight loss 42.6 pounds!! One thing that I have been working towards with this weight loss adventure for is to fit into a dress. Not just any dress either. About a nine months after L was born, E and I lost 50 pounds each. I bought this ADORABLE dress from Target. It is an Issac Mizrahe design that was originally $70. I got it for $10. It is so cute! It is a black strapless dress with a fitted waist and an A-line skirt. Well, unfortunately, I never got to wear it. In fact the tags are still on it. Well, my goal for has been to wear that dress out for my birthday. i haven't tried it on. It wasn't going to fit, I knew it wasn't. Well, my friend Casey encouraged me to try it on. I put it on knowing that there was NO way the thing was going to fit. Well, apparently, I was WRONG! It totally fit!!! My boobs are a little big yet, but with nursing, that is probably to be expected. Hopefully when I stop nursing here in the next couple of months, it will fit FANTASTICALLY!! So, to celebrate how excited I was, I went shoe shopping!!! I used some of my winnings from the contest for these kick ass totally impractical shoes:

I also found 4 very cool new scarves at the mall for 99 cents each! I couldn't knit them for that!! They are really cool!
Speaking of knitted things...Here are some pretty pictures of my Northern Lights Shawl:

And to end: Gratuitous cute shots of my beautiful children!!

Have a great one!!

Free For All Friday!
Today is Friday! Yippee!! This has been a REALLY long week and I am glad to see Friday be here. I have a lot of randomness today, so let's get started!
First off, the results are in on my Biggest Loser Contest. I got 2nd place!!! I am very happy about this. I did everything I could and quite literally worked my arse off. The woman that got first place beat me by over 2%. It would have been very difficult for me to get that extra 2%. I did what I did and did very well. I lost almost 40 pounds and gained almost $100! Not a bad job! I am even in my "skinny" jeans. I bought some jeans when I was at my thinnest after L was born. I haven't seen them since I got pregnant with J. Well, they fit and I am wearing them. This makes me SUPER happy!! Great job to everyone that participated! We all did great!
Laundry...UGH! Does anyone else hate this chore as much as I do? I did about 4 loads yesterday and have already started the first of at least 2 loads that I am going to have to do today! It just never stops! And then on top of it, L is not quite potty trained at night. She is working on it, but still struggling. She is fine during the day, but not quite there at night. Well, I have to wash her sheets about every other day. It gets tiring. And then there are the dishes. I don't even want to go into the dishes. UGH. Okay, done complaining. Sorry, just got a little household chore overwhelmed!
I know that I have missed a couple of days this week blogging wise. I am still plodding my way through a book, hopefully I will have a book review for Book Worm Wednesday. For Fiber Therapy Thursday, I am working diligently on my BEAUTIFUL Northern Lights Shawl! I love it so much!! Hopefully I will be done with it by next week and can show it to you! It is so soft and smooshy. I hope that I will enjoy wearing it as I can see lots of wraps and shawls in my future! :)
My friend Natalie blogs over at Mommy On Fire and today's blog was pretty neat. She talked about scents that she thinks candle makers or other companies that make good smelling things should make. That got me thinking about what scents I would want to have made. Read her post here. So, here are a couple of scents that I would like to have!
1) yarn (shocker huh?) But, wait you might be saying, yarn doesn't smell. Oh, I disagree! Natural fiber yarn (wool, alpaca, etc...) does most definitely have a smell. My favorite is Malabrigo. It is soaked in vinegar and that smell combines with the wool and it is just YUMMY! Every time I go to the yarn store, I take a BIG whiff!
2) freshly cut wood, especially cedar.
3) That new car smell (does anyone know what actually makes the new car smell so good?!?!)
4) Animal Cookies. The smell really really good!
Thanks for the idea Natalie!
What else an I blabber about today? Ooh, how about a Song To Live By?
"I Need A Miracle" by Fragma
-"I need a miracle, it's more than physical."
There are more lyrics to this song, but this is the only one that applies for me right now. So, why is this song on my live by list? One reason only...it is the song that plays during the lunge section of Body Pump Class. Through the whole time doing those stupid things, I can't help think how appropriate the song is. I need a miracle to get through the whole thing!!
Well, I have 3 kiddos wanting my attention. I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend!
With love,
Theresa

Fiber Therapy Thursdays!
Today I want to talk to you about something that has become my number 1 hobby....KNITTING! There is such a thing as Fiber Therapy and believe me, it will relax you so much as you feel soft smooshy wool. Thank you so much to my dear friend Carli for teaching me this skill. What would I do without you? For the record, I'm sure there are knitters out there that don't find knitting relaxing. I say to them, either choose easier, less complicated patterns or CHILL OUT! :)
I just finished a cute little hat and bootie set for my friend Rachel who just had her first baby boy after 3 beautiful girls! I think they are adorable and hopefully so did she!

I have been continually working on a project for my MIL. This was actually supposed to be a Christmas present. Yeah, I'm a little behind. But, I am determined that I am not allowed to do anything else until I finish this. It is called a Heel Head Scarf and can be found at Carissa Knits I am doing it is a soft black yarn. It is called Caron and it is acrylic which can sometimes suck, but this is super soft!

(Photo courtesy of Carissa Knits, see link above photo.)
I've got other things I am working on: a scarf and hat for my mom, a couple of hat/ mittens set. But, they are going to wait, because I am OBSESSED with making this GORGEOUS shawl from this blog:

(Photo courtesy of designer, see her blog above photo.)
I have 4 balls of this Gorgeous Merino Wool to make it!

I want it so badly that I've been working on my MIL's scarf at all available minutes!
On the mommy front, we are having some issues with the sleeping arrangements of J & L. J wants to play all night and won't let L sleep so they are both crabby all the time. We've got to figure it out because all these crabby kids are making me weary.
That is Fiber Therapy Thursday! See you tomorrow!
With love,
Theresa

Munchy Time Monday
Happy Monday!! So, here is the first post in my new blogging regime! :) Munchy Time Monday! I have been thinking about what I want to post. So, I have decided to do this a couple of ways. First I am going to post something with lots of "munchiness" and then if I am making something special or new or post worthy for dinner, I will post it too! So, first off is something VERY easy, but SO yummy and can totally be adapted to your own taste and calorie counting level!
Yogurt Pie
2 6-8 ounce containers of flavored yogurt (the same flavor)
1 small tub Cool Whip
1 Graham Cracker Crust
(I use the lowest fat or fat-free versions of these ingredients that I can find, but use what you want!)
Mix yogurt and Cool Whip together. Pour into crust. Cover and refrigerate for a couple of hours. Cut and enjoy!
Yes, I know this is an EXTREMELY easy recipe, but it is one of my favorites!! I hope you enjoy it too!
And as far as what is for dinner? I am making Pineapple Glazed Chicken. I adapted a recipe from Weight Watchers All-Time Favorites cookbook (Pineapple and Honey-Glazed Chicken). Their recipe says to marinate the chicken and stuff. Well, I didn't have the time to do that, so instead, I pulled out the trusty Crock-pot (Seriously, I LOVE the crock pot! Who invented it? AWESOME invention!!). Here is what I did:
1/2 c. canned crushed pineapple in juice
2 T. soy sauce
2 T. honey (I did NOT have this much honey, but I suggest adding it if you have it!)
2 T. lime juice
1 T. grated peeled fresh ginger (I don't keep fresh ginger, I just sprinkled some powdered ginger on there!)
1 shallot, minced (another thing I don't have, so I minced up 1/2 an onion and used it instead!)
1 small jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced (wear gloves or wash hands immediately after...do NOT touch eyes!)
4 Chicken breasts
1/2 t. cornstarch
2 t. water
1 T. Parsley
OK, so I am REALLY lazy and did not even thaw my chicken, I just stuck it in the crock pot! Hopefully this works. So, Put the chicken in the crock pot, cover with pineapple, soy sauce, honey, lime juice, ginger, shallot (onion), & jalapeno. Put on high...let cook all day till chicken is done. If you notice chicken is done, turn down to low and just let cook (that is what I am going to do!) Then I will follow the rest of the directions in the book!
Stir together the cornstarch and water in a small bowl until smooth. Transfer the chicken to a platter; keep warm. Poor the pan juices into a small saucepan and set over medium heat. Cook until the juices are reduced by half, about 2 minutes. Add the cornstarch mixture and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture bubbles and thickens, about 10 seconds; stir in the parsley. Serve the chicken with the sauce. POINTS VALUE: 4
I am trying this recipe right now. Tomorrow I will let you know how it went, what it tasted like and maybe even get a picture of it! :)
Now for life things...I had MOPS this morning. Talk about an emotionally draining morning. A good friend shared her story and the entire room was crying. If you are interested, you can check out her blog at www.mommyonfire.com. She is an amazing writer and an even MORE amazing person. She inspires me! I love my MOPS group. The women that I have met in this group are just incredible women. They are all at different places in life, although most have small children. But, some do have older children, and there are Mentor Moms whom have grown children. They are great at reassuring me that the rough days with babies won't always be rough days! The one at my table is an incredibly strong woman whom I adore. She is kind and caring and has a very positive outlook on life. She is a wonderful mother and I strive to be like her when my kids are grown! She is also great about holding M when I want to knit during the meeting! :) This group of women and all of the moms at MOPS are such a GREAT influence on my life. I look forward to this meeting all weekend. NEVER in my life have I looked forward to Monday mornings, but I do now. They are wonderful. If you are a mom and are looking for a group of women, please find a MOPS in your area. There is discussion of God, but please don't let that deter you if you are not religious. There are women there that will help you on your path to Christ if you are trying to find your way, but NO ONE is going to beat you over the head with it-at least they don't in my group and I would hope that no one would in any group. Seriously though, if you are looking for a wonderful group of moms, check out MOPS! I love it!
I am struggling though right now with something as a Mom. Lately I have noticed that L doesn't seem to have a lot of respect for her things. I have been trying and trying to teach her to have respect for her toys. People have given her these things because they love her, but other than her "mommy bear" she doesn't really take care of them very well. Even stuff that I KNOW she loves I find thrown down on the ground. It is very frustrating. Last night though, the frustration hit an all time high as I discovered that she seems to be lacking in respect for other people as well, particularly me. It is very sad to me as I stay at home with her all day long and I feel that she has no respect for me. Don't get me wrong, she is a very sweet child and I know that she loves me and she knows that she is loved. But, she has started back-talking and just seems to have no care of the fact that I stay home for her (and J and M). I got so upset that I started crying and left the table. I know that E was really upset with her, but I just had to walk away. I don't know if I was crying because I was sad or angry. I just don't know how to teach her respect. I guess I should be happy that she feels comfortable enough to know that I will always love her even if she yells at me. I will just keep trying to teach it to her I guess and pray that at some point she realizes how she needs to treat people and her things.
Well, that is it for Monday. I hope that you are all well and enjoying the sunshine! It is beautiful isn't it!?!?! Come back tomorrow for the results on the Pineapple Chicken and for "Take It Off Tuesday."
With love,
Theresa
Isolation
Now that the holidays are over and life is supposed to start calming down, I can reflect on how I am feeling. Honestly? I feel really lonely. I forgot how isolated having a new baby can make you feel. I know that I have friends, but I feel like I have barely seen anyone since Marshall was born, and honestly even before. Don't get me wrong, I will take the blame here, but that doesn't make it any easier. Part of the problem is that most of my closest friends live at least an hour away all the way up to another country completly. I don't blame them, I mean, you go where life takes you. It's just hard to get all three of the kids around a lot to go visit. Especially now that it is winter, the decent days to go visit are few and far between. I know in life, we all go our own way and all my friends have gone their's and I am SO happy for all of them. It just leaves me with a sense of isolation. Does that make sense? I used to go have all sorts of Mom's nights with friends. What happened to those? Maybe we could set one up sometime soon? Bottom line? I miss my friends...all of them.

My Joy
I am a Facebook poster. I have a lot of friends on there and love that I can celebrate or vent as needed. Yesterday was a bad day in our house. Both girls were very difficult and Marshall wouldn't let me put him down without screaming bloody murder. It was a very difficult day. I was in tears half the day and I posted this on Facebook. Well, today I posted that I was determined to have a better day (which so far we have) and a Facebook friend (who shall remain nameless) posted the following:
"...There are alot of times I read ur updates and I feel that way about grown adults.. need a nap, constantly wining, asking the same questions a billion times, and my personal fav is do something to just make u mad cause they can... See this is y i am never having offspring.. I am surrounded by them... sigh..."
This makes me very sad as a mother and makes me doubt how good of a mom I am. Do I really complain about my children that much? I figure I must, which makes me sad. And why do I complain about them that much? I mean, it isn't their fault that they are all under the age of 4!
I hadn't planned on being a parent. To be honest, I hadn't really planned on ever getting married, until I met Eric. When I met him and got to know him though, I KNEW I wanted to marry him and have his children. This is a decision I do not regret at all. I honestly LOVE being a mom! I love that I get to spend my day playing with these 3 wonderful creatures of God. Sure, there are plenty (and I do mean PLENTY) of days that I doubt my abilities as a parent, but I have to believe that GOD would not have given me these lovely gifts if he did not trust and know that I could take care of them. He has made them my JOY. This JOY that fills my heart with a simple smile, an "I Love You", or a hug around the legs. There is no better JOY for me than these children. They help make me the person I am and for that, I am so thankful to God. I love these three children so much and I truly do not know why I complain about them. I guess that is just human nature, to complain about the JOYs we have in life. But, I need to do better. My children are my JOY and I need to share that feeling with the world, not complain about it.
So, thank you my Facebook friend for making me realize how much my children mean to me. Even if you do not want to have children, as that is completely your choice, know that I hope that you find the JOY in your own life. And that you let that JOY fill you up inside.
May you all find your Joy,
God Bless,
Theresa

To Be A Parent...
Anyone reading this that is a parent...have you ever just looked at your children and felt tears spring to your eyes? It doesn't matter how tired, frustrated, or just sick of it all you are, sometimes, they just make you want to cry with joy that they are yours! Jillian had been screaming since we came home from my MOPS Craft meeting, Layla couldn't decide if she wanted lunch or not and Marshall wanted to eat AGAIN and was crying. I got Jillian down for a nap, Layla chips and salsa (don't ask) and was feeding Marshall when I looked down and him and just felt my eyes tear up. Couldn't help it, almost started sobbing! I guess that is part of being a parent. It doesn't matter HOW crazy they make you, you can't help but love them!
